The Tree Maintenance survey has now concluded, thank you for your contributions. The consultation report is published in the Documents section on this page.
All our trees are inspected on a cyclical basis to ensure that they are healthy, safe and stable. Part of this assessment looks at the potential need for pruning, if for example the tree limbs are causing an obstruction to road signs, or in cases where they possess a danger to the public or other trees, felling.
This ongoing work is carried out year-round and we have teams attending to our parks and highway trees every day.
In cases where trees must be felled, we have a commitment to plant at least two replacements. This is set out in the Wirral Tree Strategy, which also outlines our plans to plant an additional 210,000 trees across the borough by 2030. This will see our tree canopy double over the next nine years, bringing us closer to becoming carbon neutral.
As part of this consultation, we are asking for your views on the work that has been carried out and the professionalism of the staff involved. This will cover how polite and courteous the workers were, how tidy they left the site and the overall quality of the work.
The feedback from this consultation will be used to ensure that the highest levels of professionalism and quality are maintained, both by Wirral Council staff and our contractors.
If you feel there is room for improvement, or if you are impressed with the standard of work that has been carried out, we would love to hear from you. Please complete the short survey below.
