Under the international Paris Agreement, the world has pledged to keep global warming below 1.5ºC, and there is also a goal to reach net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. Wirral Council declared an environment and climate emergency on 15 July 2019.

In Wirral, we have a target of 2041 to be net carbon neutral (this means that the amount of carbon that we produce compared to what we take out of the atmosphere is balanced).

This target has been agreed by Cool Wirral - a partnership made up of the council and local organisations such as housing associations, emergency services, local action groups, community groups and the faith sector.

The Cool Wirral Partnership have developed the Cool 2 Strategy to help us achieve this target and reduce carbon emissions in Wirral. We need the help of Wirral residents to achieve the target and we want to understand what you think about climate change and collect your thoughts on what needs to be done to work together.

This survey is designed to give people an opportunity to tell us what they think of climate change, their views on it and to provide information about what we all need to do collectively to achieve the target.

We also hope to use the survey to monitor how people’s attitudes and thoughts about the climate may change over time in the next few years by running the survey again in the future.

Please complete the survey below to provide us with your thoughts on climate action.
