If you live, visit or work in Beechwood or Ballantyne, Wirral Council and its partners would like to hear from you to help re-design the area of ‘Greenacres Park’, to make it a safer community space for all to enjoy.
We are referring to the area outlined in the map above as ‘Greenacres Park’ – this is the park area on Greenacres Close and St. Oswald's Avenue in Beechwood. What do we want to know?
We’d love to hear your ideas and thoughts about the park including what you’d like to see in the park. Your feedback could include:
- What you’d like to name the park.
- What you like about the park.
- What you do not like about the park.
- What you’d like to see in the park.
- What you don't want to see in the park.
To share your ideas, add your ideas to the board by clicking the 'Have Your Say' button below.
What are we going to do with your ideas?
This ideas board will be combined with ideas that were gathered at a community event in ‘Greenacres Park’ on 27 March 2025. Ideas and suggestions will then be used to put together a plan so that we can apply for funding to make improvements to the park.
If our application for funding is successful, a series of workshops will then be held in the local community to help keep you informed on the plans for the area and make sure that the plans still reflect your ideas.
Background to the project
The area of ‘Greenacres Park’ is being looked at as it was identified by the Beechwood and Ballantyne Problem Solving and Implementation (PSI) group as needing improvement. This group includes Wirral Council, Merseyside Police, Onward Homes, Beechwood Community Shop, Fender FC, The Little Centre, as well as other local partners and community organisations. The group meet to decide how best to improve the local area and to meet residents’ needs, to support the EVOLVE Wirral project.
EVOLVE is Merseyside’s response to the Home Office’s Clear, Hold, Build strategy to improve areas most affected by serious and organised crime. Part funded by the Home Office, EVOLVE Wirral launched in Wirral in May 2023 and focuses on the areas of Beechwood and Ballantyne, Woodchurch and Noctorum – to make them safer for generations to come.
On 27 March 2025, Wirral Council, Onward Homes, Merseyside Police and Beechwood Community shop held a Great British Spring Clean event, to support the national Keep Britain Tidy campaign, to start tackling issues in the area and included a community litter pick, free tree giveaway, removal of fly-tipping and park maintenance.
