Your contributions highlight the community need for PlayZones in Wirral. Supported by the survey findings, a bid was submitted to the Football Foundation for a new PlayZone in Wirral. The bid was well received, and it was accepted that there is a community need and requirement for a PlayZone offer in Wirral, however the bid has not been approved due to unmet funding requirements. Wirral Council (Active Wirral) is seeking the views of residents to understand the community need and requirements for PlayZones in Wirral.
Primarily funded by the Football Foundation, PlayZones are high quality facilities offering space for recreational physical activity across sports such as Football, Netball, Rugby, Cricket, Hockey or Basketball.
The PlayZone Programme is a new, exciting programme aimed at tackling inequalities in physical activity and access to facilities by funding community-led spaces.
Its aim is to focus on communities with the greatest need and to deliver new or refurbished safe and accessible mini pitches that will allow priority groups to be more active.
Plans to expand Wirral’s PlayZone offer are in the consultation stage. We would like to have your thoughts about PlayZones through the survey below. Your feedback will be used for future funding bids aiming to bring new or refurbished PlayZones to Wirral.
