Welcome to our consultation on the future of Wirral Adult Day Services. We are working to redesign and transform Adult Day Services. The reason we are doing this is to shape services that are more person-centred, flexible, and focus on people's strengths. We would like to support greater independence, dignity, and choice helping people live well.
Through this consultation, we hope to learn what matters most to people who use (or may use) day services.
We’ve worked with people who use day services, their families, and carers, to help shape the ideas of what a good day looks like. The proposed options support more flexible activities, based on people’s needs, interests and aspirations.
What Are the Options?
Option 1: To maintain the current delivery model. This is predominantly a building-based model, which poses a risk of long-term dependency, which may not always lead to the best outcomes for people accessing the service.
Option 2: To retain and re-focus the current service. This delivery model would retain the Council’s Day Service with a focus on building-based services for people with a profound multiple learning disability and complex need. Community hubs would also be provided for people with a mild to moderate learning disability.
Option 3: To provide a hybrid delivery model. This would establish a flexible outcome framework for commissioning community support for those with a mild to moderate learning disability. The Council’s building-based day service would be retained for those with a profound multiple learning disability and complex need.
Option 4: To establish a flexible outcomes framework for the whole service. This would involve commissioning support needs for all people accessing the service.
To ensure that everyone who wants to provide feedback is able to, the Council will provide extra independent support to enable people who currently access the service to work through an easy read questionnaire in person at their day centre.
Only feedback provided through a questionnaire (online or hard copy) will be considered.
We would love to hear your views, whether you use services now, may use them in the future, or support someone.
If you would like to complete the questionnaire online please follow the survey link below. If you would like to receive a paper or easy read version of the survey, or would like further assistance, please contact us using the information on this page.
