Why do you want to change the library service?
We are looking to make the library service better for our residents so that they can use the library to access the services they really need. How we change the service will be based on the ideas and feedback that you submit as part of this consultation.
What will you be asking me as part of this survey?
We will be asking you a number of questions such as do you use the library service and why, which library do you use, why you may not use the library and what other services would you like to access from this library to make the offer better.
Do you know how many people use the libraries?
Our Needs Assessment includes data on trends, statistics and demographics which has been used to inform the future direction of the library service. This information includes maps of the area and the location of libraries. This can be accessed: https://www.haveyoursay.wirral.gov.uk/wirral-library-model-consultation
When will the consultation start and finish?
The consultation is for eight weeks and starts on the 6 May and finishes at 11:59pm on the 1 July 2025.
Do I have to do it online?
No, but we would prefer you to complete the form on line here: https://www.haveyoursay.wirral.gov.uk/wirral-library-model-consultation
This is because the information you input can be directly added to collated feedback quicker. If needed, we can provide you with a paper copy via your local library. To arrange this please contact your local library or libraryconsultation@wirral.gov.uk
What if I need an accessible copy?
We have an easy read copy that can be requested via this webpage: https://www.haveyoursay.wirral.gov.uk/wirral-library-model-consultation
How was the proposal reached / decision made?
If you would like to know more about what the proposal is and how the decision was made please read the accompanying briefing note here: https://www.haveyoursay.wirral.gov.uk/wirral-library-model-consultation
What happens next?
The outcome and findings of the consultation will be collated and presented to the Council’s Tourism, Communities, Culture and Leisure Committee in Autumn 2025, when the committee will agree or otherwise, the implementation of the proposed model.
