This Birkenhead Town Deal consultation has concluded, thank you for your contributions. The feedback you provided was used to help shape the bid submitted to government in January 2021. In July 2021 the government informed us that we have been successful in securing £25million, which will be used towards regeneration projects in Birkenhead.
The consultation report is included in the 'Documents' section of this page.
Birkenhead is among a select group of 101 towns which has been invited to bid for up to £25 million to transform neighbourhoods and communities in their area. As part of the Government’s £3.6 billion Towns Fund programme, it is aimed at towns with a proud industrial heritage that may not have always typically benefited from economic growth like more prosperous areas.
To make sure the bid reflects the views of Wirral residents we would like you to let us know what you think about Birkenhead and how it should be developed in the future.
We will use the information you provide to help shape the bid that will be submitted to Government in January 2021.
This work will also contribute to the long term regeneration of Birkenhead to create a green, sustainable, waterfront community - further consultation with residents will be carried out in 2021.
Information about the Town Deal can be viewed and downloaded under ‘Documents’.
