Welcome to Wirral Council’s online Budget Simulator.
Wirral Council, like other councils across the country, continues to face financial challenges in providing good quality services and ensuring the council remains financially sustainable for the future.
We have a limited budget, and with costs and demands for our services increasing, it will only go so far.
Which is why we are asking you to have a go at balancing the Council’s budget. What services matter to you most? Which services do you think we should protect? Which services do you think we could reduce?
Our budget simulator is easy to use and allows you to reduce spending across council services and see the consequences of your choices. You also have the opportunity to give us your comments, which will help us understand what is important to you when we come to set a legal budget.
Your target in the simulator is to save £38 million. This is based on the Council’s current budget, before taking account of any savings and changes in income we are proposing. This is to give you more opportunities to choose where savings could come from.
Take part in the budget simulator challenge below to share your ideas on how we balance the budget in the future.
The consequences presented in this priority simulator tool are indicative.
