Dock Branch Neighbourhood Masterplan

The consultation has now closed, thank you for your contributions. A consultation report will be published in due course.

Dock Branch Neighbourhood focuses on the area around the Dock Branch railway line. It is one of nine catalyst projects which form a key part of the Birkenhead 2040 Framework.

The Dock Branch Neighbourhood masterplan will show what the future of the area could be, helping to steer investment and development in a well thought-out, coordinated way. We want the Dock Branch Neighbourhood masterplan to reflect a broad range of community views, understanding what people who live, work or visit the area now want it to be like in the future. We also need to think about people who might come and make this part of Birkenhead their home or choose to set up a business here.

What we have heard already

The engagement ideas and comments received in Phase 1 consultation enabled a focus on:

• Re-using existing buildings

• Planting, trees and landscaping

• Affordable housing

• A safe neighbourhood

People offered the following ideas on what would make this a success:

• Housing affordability and more housing in the town centre

• Better standards and state-of-the-art facilities

• The fact that people choose to live in the area would be a success in itself

• The feeling of safety

• Spaces for people to meet

Following Phase 1 consultation a Draft Masterplan has been prepared. It is available for viewing in the Documents section of this page along with an Executive Summary of the plan and the feedback recieved from Phase 1 of the engagement.

To provide your thoughts on the the masterplan please complete the survey below. We will use your feedback to review and finalise the draft masterplan.
