Hamilton Square Conservation Area Regeneration Plan
Hamilton Square is a conservation area; this means that it is a place of special architecture and historic interest and it is nationally recognised. Local Authorities have a duty to review, from time to time, their conservation areas to ensure that these places are being properly protected. The current conservation appraisal was adopted in 2006. The Council is now looking to update this and produce a new plan for the conservation area.
Map showing the current Conservation Area and the suggested area to be included in the new plan.
To develop this approach, the Council has produced a Conservation Area Case for Change which has led to the development of a draft new Hamilton Square: Conservation Area Regeneration Plan. Both these documents can be viewed in the Document section of this page along with a summary of the draft new plan. The key changes are the proposed extended conservation area boundary and the proposals for the regeneration of the conservation area.
Management plans of conservation areas directly affect those who live in the area, and as part of the process to develop a new plan, we are asking for feedback from residents and interested stakeholders and groups. This can be done by completing the survey below or in person with a discussion with Council officers during the event. All the feedback provided will be reviewed and used to update the plan.
