Wirral Council proposes to continue Wirral's selective licensing scheme through re-designation of two areas that have been in place since 2020 and extending the scheme into four further areas. Selective licensing will require all landlords to have a licence to let out homes in these areas between 1st October 2025 until 30th September 2030.

For the most recently designated scheme, Wirral Council charged £585 over a 5-year period depending on any discounts that can be applied. This is around £117 per year or £2.25 per week before discounts can be applied.
