Bebington Road Moving Traffic Enforcement

As a result of complaints relating to dangerous and inconsiderate driving and parking, the council are looking to introduce camera technology to support the existing moving traffic restriction in place on Bebington Road (between Boundary Road and New Chester Road), that runs through New Ferry Centre. We asked you to let us know whether you support or object to the introduction of camera technology at Bebington Road, New Ferry to support the existing restrictions of traffic entering and parking in the area.

You Said

The questionnaire was responded to by 108 people.

The key results from the survey were:

• Most people supported the introduction of ANPR technology to enforce moving traffic restrictions (81.5%), 18.5% were in objection.
• The most prevalent reason for supporting ANPR enforcement was that it would improve safety in the area (66% of supporters)
• The most common reason to object was concerns that it would harm local businesses (48% of objectors)

We Did

This scheme was approved via an Officer Decision Notice, where valid objections received were considered, and is now up and running with the cameras in place and camera enforcement in operation.
