Culture and Heritage Strategy for Birkenhead

Consultation has concluded

This consultation has closed and the contributions have been reviewed. The consultation report is now available to view in the Documents section of this page.

Thank you for your contribution to the consultation. The findings were used to develop the Birkenhead 2040: Culture and Heritage Strategy which is available in the 'Documents' section of this page.

If you’re passionate about culture and heritage and its importance to Birkenhead or if you are a creative individual or business interested in what’s happening locally, we want to hear from you.

Through the work that’s being done to regenerate Birkenhead, we have an incredible opportunity to make the most of the town’s cultural and heritage assets and to develop new and fun experiences for local people and visitors to enjoy. There are also lots of opportunities for our creative communities and businesses to grow as part of the exciting developments which are now happening.

As part of the work to develop and consult on the Birkenhead 2040 Framework we are producing a strategy which will set out how the Council will work in partnership to make sure that culture and heritage are at the heart of plans for renewal, including transforming our precious public realm. Celebrating Birkenhead’s history, telling our story in new ways and energising our communities through cultural experiences has never been more important as we recover from the pandemic and look ahead to the future.

If you are an organisation or individual who wants to help shape the strategy and the action we take to promote culture and heritage in Birkenhead, please complete this survey.

We would encourage you to read the Birkenhead 2040 Framework, located hereor the Summary located in the Useful Documents section, before you answer the questions. The Framework sets out the emerging vision for Birkenhead and includes information about the importance of culture and heritage in realising our ambitions.

The final draft version of the strategy will be published in due course for comments.
